About Conquistadores

A flat, tree-lined neighborhood in Laureles-Estadio, between Avenida 33 and the river, a few blocks from Unicentro and UPB and minutes from downtown and Plaza Mayor. Stratum 4–5, with steady rental demand, furnished units included.

Conquistadores sits at the eastern end of Comuna 11 (Laureles-Estadio), between Avenida 33, Avenida San Juan and the Medellín River corridor, next to San Joaquín, Bolivariana and Naranjal. It is a flat, traditional neighborhood of tree-lined streets, dominated by mid-rise apartment buildings with some family houses still standing. Location is one of its biggest assets: Unicentro mall and Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana are a few blocks away, the Parques del Río linear park runs along its eastern edge, and the La Alpujarra administrative center and the Plaza Mayor convention venue are just across the river. That mix supports steady rental demand — including furnished units — from students, professionals and long-stay visitors, with prices per square meter more moderate than El Poblado's.

Mobility and transport

Suramericana and Estadio stations on Metro line B are about a 15–20 minute walk away, and across the river are Exposiciones and Industriales (line A), the latter integrated with Metroplús, which also has a stop at Fátima on Calle 30. Avenida 33, Avenida San Juan, Avenida Bolivariana, Carrera 65 and the Autopista Sur connect within minutes to downtown, El Poblado and the west of the city. Flat terrain, wide sidewalks and the area's bike lanes make walking and cycling easy.

Safety

It is a quiet residential area, with concierge in most buildings and good foot traffic during the day. According to Medellín's Security Department, the Laureles-Estadio comuna recorded fewer homicides and fewer street-theft complaints between January and June 2026 than in the same period of 2025. Street theft remains the most common crime, so the usual caution applies along the river and Autopista corridors at night and on stadium match days.

Retail and services

Unicentro, one of the city's traditional malls, has an Éxito supermarket, a cinema and a food court. A few minutes away are the dining strips on Carrera 70 and Avenida 33, Laureles' Primer Parque, Obelisco mall and Viva Laureles. Pharmacies, banks, bakeries and neighborhood grocers cover everyday needs.

Education and universities

Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana and its school are practically next door. Universidad Católica Luis Amigó, Institución Universitaria Salazar y Herrera, Universidad de Antioquia and Universidad Nacional are 10–15 minutes away, along with a wide range of private and public schools in Laureles.

Healthcare

Clínica Medellín's Occidente branch is about a kilometer away, in Fátima. Clínica Las Américas, Hospital Pablo Tobón Uribe and Clínica Universitaria Bolivariana are about 10–15 minutes away, plus medical offices, laboratories and imaging centers in Laureles.
